He claimed that taking acetaminophen, or Tylenol, while pregnant has been related to a “extremely enhanced danger of autism,” an insurance claim pressed by Health and Human Being Services Assistant Robert F. Kennedy with little to no basis in scientific truth.
“Taking Tylenol is not good,” Trump stated, as if any individual in their ideal mind would take medical recommendations from a man who suggested infusing disinfectant to treat coronavirus.
Scientists– people that, unlike Trump and Kennedy, have actual competence in these issues– objected. Dr. Helen Tager-Flusberg, supervisor of the Facility for Autism Study Quality at Boston University called the news “appalling” and “a very significant distortion” of what scientific research says about any type of feasible web links.
The Union of Autism Researchers stated : “The data pointed out do not support the case that Tylenol causes autism and leucovorin is a cure, and only stoke worry and wrongly suggest hope when there is no basic response.”
And Sura Alwan, a medical teratologist at the University of British Columbia, stated , “The evidence does not sustain a causal web link in between acetaminophen or injections and autism.”

Likewise on Fox, the network’s own elderly medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel asked and responded to the question rather definitively. “Does acetaminophen while pregnant reason autism? People around need to understand there’s definitely no evidence whatsoever that that holds true.”
In Congress, there’s been some rare pushback, too. Senate Bulk Leader John Thune told CNN he was “really concerned” and insisted, “science should certainly guide these conversations.”
Sen. Expense Cassidy, a licensed physician, posted on X , “HHS should launch the brand-new information that it needs to sustain this case. The prevalence of evidence reveals that this is not the situation.”
And Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Road Journal blasted Trump and Kennedy’s anti-Tylenol campaign, pointing to claims versus the maker of Tylenol and what may be individual rate of interests in those outcomes.
“What’s taking place below has much less to do with healthcare than with a project by the plaintiffs bar,” wrote the Journal’s editorial board. “If a drug firm made the unverified insurance claims aired at the White Residence, the Fda would endanger lawsuit.”
